Wonder Woman

Once upon a time when I was a child my mother was always fussing with my hair, along with my sisters hair. We had our hair done in the morning, first thing it seems, the MOMENT we woke up from our naps and then before going ANYWHERE! And by me saying anywhere, I really mean anywhere. For example, Flaming George. Yes, my mother owned a propane curling iron. So, when we would come off of the boat at the end of the day to eat dinner and go to sleep, we would all have to get our hair "done" meaning...clip/bow and curled bangs and all!! Needless to say all of our pictures are really cute from my childhood!

The reason for this story is because I was searching my soul trying to figure out why I feel the need to explain why Audrey's hair isn't perfect every time we go some where. I try to have it cute, but lately it seems like we are always late to things and it just doesn't get done like it use to. AND I'M SORRY!!

~~~Mom, I hope you are not embarrassed. ~~~
I also feel this way about my housework not being finished by Monday evening, my bed not always being made, a home cooked dinner NIGHTLY...you get the idea.
Basically my mom was wonder woman. She had 5 kids in 8 years and in my mind did it perfectly, cleanly and she is still a sane woman. Her house is still spotless. It gets deep cleaned each Monday and I VOW to one day be like her...one day.
  1. I totally understand what you mean. My mom always had a PERFECT house...the laundry never backed up, and all our hair was done perfectly everyday. I don't think she ever slept, and probably doesn't to this day. I have a hard enough time with 2, and she had 8!! I especially feel embarrassed when she comes over and there is one thing out of place. Atleast we have great moms to look up to!
  3. Your mom is pretty amazing. I always do Ally's hair in the morning and in about two hours she looks like a "ragamuffin!" Since Grace I have only done her hair once and she looks crazy haired all day. Luckily I don't have any visitors so nobody knows. Just so you know every time I have seen your little family I have thought Audrey is a doll.
