Brad had RSV over the Christmas holiday and it scared me to death. I felt like he got it because of me not being careful enough with him. I thought about all of the places I had taken him, who I let hold him, wondering if I washed my hands enough etc....Now rationally I know that these things just happen, and I know that I have been as careful as I should have been, it just has really turned me into a GERM A PHOPE.
Germaphobe :Any person who is obsessed with cleanliness and defeating bacteria. These individuals will turn on faucets with their elbows and hand sanitize on an hourly basis.
That is me lately, no joke. I make Audrey change her cloths the second we walk in the door from any public place...I do the same. Today before I gave Brad to Trav I asked him to wash his hands first and when I looked over at him he was wiping his shirt and sleeves with a hand sanitizing wipe...smart ass. Oh, and we have hand sanitizing wipes in every room. I'VE TURNED INTO A CRAZY PERSON. Oh, and with Audrey in pre-school, and primary (at least she is out of nursery). I've decided not to take Brad to church until March/April, Trav and I will just have to take turns.
It's all a bit much I KNOW. So, I VOW to never have another winter baby. If I have another baby it will be born in April or May. (for my sanity as well as my families)
Amen sister. Sometimes sickness is inevitable...but we can all be a little extra careful with our little ones. Its no fun for us when they are sick. I've been inside for a week!!
ReplyDeleteOh, RSV is so sad! I hope Brad is doing better. I love the whole germ thing, I think its funny! I am not ever nervous about germs, but I do try and keep us all fairly clean. I am glad you have switched to blogspot, its easier for me to navigate around your blog now.
ReplyDeleteJake wants to have a winter baby and I told him that he wouldn't like me if I had a winter baby...for the same reasons you talked about. I'll be sure to have him read your post. Maybe that will get the whole "winter" baby thing out of his head! BTW, your blog is so cute...and so are your kiddos!
ReplyDeleteKate, you crack me up. Maybe you should go and buy some scrubs so that when you are at home you and trave could just wear those. It is grose to think about all the germs out there but I do think if we over sanitize then our bodies don't learn to fight off foreign germs. Any who, you are a good mommy and I'm glad that I was able to find your blog.:-)
ReplyDeleteCute blog my dear! I love it! Hope you guys are doing well, sorry to hear about little Brad? Did you have to admit him to the hospital? YUCK!
